How to auto-skip sponsor segments, intros, and outros on YouTube
Sponsor segments, long intros, and channel outros can add minutes of non-content to every video. VidBar's skip-segments feature detects these sections and skips them automatically — you watch the content, not the filler.
- 1Step 1
Install VidBar
Add VidBar from the Chrome Web Store. The skip-segments feature works on YouTube.
- 3Step 3
Enable skip segments in the toolbar
In the VidBar toolbar, toggle on the skip-segments option. A small indicator appears on the progress bar where segments will be skipped.
- 4Step 4
Choose which segment types to skip
In the settings panel you can turn individual types on or off: sponsor, intro, outro, interaction reminder, filler.
- 5Step 5
Play the video normally
When the playhead hits a marked segment, VidBar jumps over it automatically. A brief toast shows what was skipped.
- 6Step 6
Undo a skip if needed
A small undo button appears after each skip for a few seconds, letting you replay the section if you want to see it.
